This product was activated by SIMAH to identify juridical entities (i.e. companies and institutions) through the Legal Entity Identifier System,  established by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation. Moarif provides companies and institutions with figures on par with international standards, distinguishing them a unique international quality. Enabling companies to measure risk and to manage it in a scientific manner, Moarif promotes the principle of transparency so that financial monitoring entities can limit information discrepancies and identify legal entities according to specific, rapid and transparent mechanism through a unified international system. The Legal Entity Identifier consists of 20 fields, including letters and numbers, based on ISO:17442, implemented by companies worldwide.

Under the supervision of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the Saudi Credit Bureau (SIMAH) and the Saudi banks  decided to lunch  the National Data Pooling (NDP) for the purposes of establishing a banking industry credit data pooling system to analyze and develop a probability of default (PD) model and generate an annual report on the Loss Given Default (LGD) for commercial obligors to meet Basel II capital adequacy (IRB guidelines). Standard & Poor’s Risk Solutions, the chosen vendor / developer have been retained by SIMAH to provide various services to the project, including the training of a quantitative PD model based on the data assembled. This encompasses commercial and corporate lending defaults, as well as financial statements from both defaulted and non-defaulted firms. The NDP also provides conformed default and recovery ratings.

- The consortium provides a reliable historical benchmark against which the performance of each bank can be measured using conformed data.
